Eco Travel Trailer?

topic posted Tue, October 24, 2006 - 12:52 AM by  Dana

Anyone have one, seen one, knows how to build one? My husband is designing a concept for a 'green', eco-travel trailer. He is studying sustainable architecture and getting his certification in Building Biology & Ecology (a 'house doctor') and my brother started The Green Car Company here in Seattle (and we got a Biodesiel Suburban and I love to travel among my many other skills... put it all together and we might come up with something but it would be great to get some leads, resources or know if anyone's ever done it successfullly. It shouldn't be that hard concidering RVs are pretty energy effecient and low footprint by nature. But to be able to use healthy and green materials in a reasonably cost effective way could be the challenge. Anyone have good contacts, links, avenues to investigate?

We might try to pull this off by Burning Man since the theme this year is The Green Man. Is that totally unreasonable. Encouragement or Perspective Please. ;-)

I'm very interested in knowing how this turns out. I'm planning on gutting out an rv and installing my own ideas (designed by others).

I want to somehow put in a sunroof that can also be used as a sun battery charger for cell and laptop as well as a nice view when I sleep.
